Activities
26th March,2008 was Document Freedom Day(DFDay). It was for the first time the world has celebrated this event. Roughly 200 teams from more than 60 countries worldwide were expected to organise local activities to raise awareness for Document Freedom and Open Standards.
In Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya (MPP), MPP/FOSS Nepal members marked this day by organizing an internal speech/talk program on DocumentFreedom and related topics like Open Standard. The speakers were: Mr. Laxmi Prasad Khatiwada and Mr. Prabin Gautam
The presentations included:
* The concept of Document Freedom Day * Philosophy behind Free Document and Freedom * Open Standards * News update on adaptation of ODF * How Open Document/standards helps in existence of FOSS and vice-versa. * News about Document Standardization, ODF Alliance, OOXML vote-outs, etc. * Interactive session
FOSS Nepal Community hope to celebrate/mark this day as grand one as Software Freedom Day(SFD) in coming years to go.
