we are a group of engineering students.Surprisingly on march 26th we have been planning for the formal inauguration of the GNU_LAB (described here http://fci.wikia.com/wiki/GNU_labs ).GNU_LAB is a platform for students of engineering colleges to start up free software activities.GNU_LAB laws ensures that all the activities done under GNU_LAB will have free software culture.We are in the making of GNU_LAB in our college and as a part we have been planning an exhibition on the annual tech event of our college on the very same march 25th and 26th ,to show the power of GNU and to introduce the philosophy or culture of free software.It was then i heard about document freedom day.So its the ideal occassion for us to celebrate document freedom day on march 26.We have students and faculties from many engineering colleges across kerala as audiance as we are having the annual tech event those days..so we are having a great oppurtunity to present before such a huge engineering community,the need for using free standards.Though kerala is well known for its free software activities and for using exclusive free softwares for school students,the present engineering student/faculty community are not that much aware of the free software culture.So we can use this great oppurtunity and become part of the world movement for free standards..
